Sewer Lateral Repair Rebate
Program Overview
The City of Los Angeles is offering two sewer lateral rebates on a first-come, first-serve basis, until annual allocated funds are exhausted, to rate paying property owners who own residential, multifamily, commercial, and industrial property, and who pay sewer service charge to the City of Los Angeles.
If sewage backs up onto your property, you will need to find out the cause of the backup and may need to have your sewer lateral repaired. Signs of potential sewer problems are slow draining drains, water standing in showers that does not drain, and gurgling in toilets.
You may also see wet areas in your yard from a cracked or broken pipe. Tree roots may also enter your private sewer lateral and eventually block your lateral, thus causing sewage back up onto your property. You may contact a plumbing contractor and have your private sewer lateral televised (CCTV). If the videotape shows evidence of damage to your sewer lateral, then you can hire a bonded and licensed plumbing contractor to make the repairs to your private sewer lateral.
Have your sewer lateral repaired by a licensed and bonded sewer contractor and you will be eligible for up to a $2,500 rebate.
