Last week, colleagues gathered at a celebratory lunch for Ronald Mayuyu, a Sanitation Wastewater Manager with LA Sanitation & Environment (LASAN) who is retiring with over 35 years of City service. The lunch was held in the construction trailer for the new Advanced Water Purification Facility at the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant in Van Nuys.
A Professional Engineer, Ronald rose through the ranks from plant operations to senior leadership. He played a key role in managing some of the nation's most complex water reclamation facilities, including the Donald C. Tillman, Los Angeles Glendale, and Terminal Island Water Reclamation Plants.
During his time with LASAN, Ronald helped advance the City's environmental stewardship, wastewater treatment, and water recycling programs. His leadership has aided LASAN's efforts to protect public health and the environment, maximize water recycling, and build a more resilient and sustainable future for generations to come.
Thanks, Ronald, for your contributions to the City of Los Angeles, and congratulations on your retirement.
