The Department of Public Works bid farewell to a distinguished civil servant. They honored outgoing LASAN Refuse Collection Supervisor Salvador Luna, who retires with 32 years of City service. Mr. Luna joined LASAN as a part-time refuse collection truck operator at the East Valley yard in 1993. The following year, he accepted an emergency appointment as a driver at the North Central yard, subsequently transitioning to a full-time position at the same location. After seven years serving as a lead in green waste collection, in 2023, Mr. Luna was appointed as Refuse Collection Supervisor in the Livability Services Division’s Illegal Dumping Altered Shift Response Team. He spent much of his free time coaching football, baseball, and basketball.
