Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment’s (LASAN) commitment to working with cannabis dispensaries in Los Angeles provides options for eco-conscious consumers as The Artist Tree joins the Los Angeles Green Business Program (LAGBP).
In 2018, California voters legalized adult-use sales for cannabis and THC, and dispensaries began to open in Los Angeles. In 2026, The Artist Tree became the first dispensary to join the LAGBP, leading the way for further sustainability and eco-consciousness in the cannabis sector.
”Cannabis and cannabis-related products are an expanding business market in the City of Los Angeles,” said Joone Kim-Lopez, Executive Director and General Manager of LASAN. “The partnership between The Artist Tree and the Los Angeles Green Business Program opens the conversation for what sustainability looks like in an industry that continues to grow and evolve in Los Angeles.”
The Green Business Program provides tools for sustainability that benefit the cannabis industry in Los Angeles. LASAN’s LAGBP requires training for all participants to help them access available resources, including how to navigate their role in building eco-conscious and sustainable environments. The Green Business certification must be renewed every 4 years. Businesses are encouraged to network with other member businesses to grow their knowledge and share best practices for a clean, green, and sustainable LA.
