recycLA Trash and Recycling Services (Commercial and Multi-Family)

Call LASAN's 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489 to set up service or request a free waste assessment. Your assigned recycLA Service Provider (RSP) will conduct an on-site walk-through to review your waste generation, right-size your containers, and adjust pick-up frequency so you get the lowest possible rate.

All recyclable materials must be clean and dry when placed in the bin or dumpster. Accepted items include:

• Paper & Cardboard: Junk mail, newspapers, cereal boxes, and flattened delivery boxes.
• Plastics 1, 2, and 5: Clean plastic bottles, jugs, and tubs (like yogurt or margarine containers).  
• Glass: Bottles and jars (any color).  
• Metal: Aluminum cans, tin cans, and clean foil.  

Putting the wrong things in the blue bin or recycling dumpster can ruin a whole truckload of recycling. Please keep these out:

• Broken Glass and Dishware: These cannot be recycled and belong in the black bin.
• Food & Liquids: These belong in the Green Bin or Black Bin.  
• Household Hazardous Waste: Batteries, light bulbs, paint, medications, and chemicals.  
• Electronic Waste: Computers, televisions, vacuums, and anything with a plug or battery should never be placed in the recycling or trash.
• Oversized Items: Appliances, furniture, carpeting, and other bulky items.
• Construction Debris: Flooring, drywall, pipes, etc.
• "Tanglers": Hoses, cables, wires, and holiday lights can break sorting machines.

Use your black bin for non-recyclable solid waste such as plastic wraps, wax-coated cartons, styrofoam, hoses, and ceramics. You can often lower your monthly trash bill by moving more recyclables into your blue bin and reducing your black bin size or collection frequency.

To keep our community clean and protect our environment, please keep the following items out of your black trash bin or dumpster:

• Organics: Keep food scraps and yard waste out. These belong in your green organics bin.
• Recyclables: Keep clean paper, cardboard, metals, and rigid plastics (1, 2, and 5) out. These belong in your blue recycling bin.
• Hazardous Waste: Never throw away paint, chemicals, lightbulbs, batteries, rechargeable devices, or medical sharps (needles). Hazardous waste requires special handling.
