Metal Appliance Pickup

If you are a resident with curbside collection service from LA Sanitation and Environment (LASAN), we will pick up your large metal and household appliances at no extra cost. We accept:

• Refrigerators and Freezers
• Washers and Dryers
• Dishwashers
• Air Conditioners
• Water Heaters and Standard Heaters

If your item isn't on this list but is mostly metal, give us a call at 1-800-773-2489! We want to help you recycle these materials properly rather than seeing them end up in a landfill.

Scheduling is easy, but we do need at least one business day's notice before your regular trash day. Metal appliances are collected on your normal collection day, but they often require a different truck.

You have two easy ways to schedule:

• Call our Customer Care Center: Dial 1-800-773-2489. Our friendly team is available 24/7. Please have a list of your items ready so we can ensure the right truck is sent to your home.
• Submit an Online Request: Visit the MyLA311 Service Request Form. It only takes a few minutes! Just fill out the form and hit "Submit."

To keep our neighborhoods and our workers safe, please follow these two steps:

• Remove the doors: If you are getting rid of a refrigerator or freezer, please remove the doors before placing it at the curb. This prevents children from accidentally getting trapped inside while playing.
• Check the list: Make sure you've mentioned every item when you called. Our drivers can only pick up the specific items listed on their daily work order.
