Program Overview
The recycLA Stars program honors commercial business leaders and multi-family property owners who embrace sustainable waste management. By investing in food rescue, organics composting, and proper blue bin recycling, recycLA Stars serve as eco-friendly models across Los Angeles.
Awardees will receive a decal for a storefront window and a certificate from the City of Los Angeles, identifying which level of recycLA Star is achieved. They'll also be featured on LASAN’s recycLA website and social media, and be highlighted at events and presentations, to ensure that people throughout Los Angeles recognize their recycLA Star achievements.
Award Levels
Nominees are evaluated jointly by LASAN and their recycLA Service Provider (RSP). Properties receive Green, Silver, Gold, or Platinum designation based on their total waste diversion rate, employee/tenant training efforts, and participation in edible food donation programs.
How to Nominate
Business owners and property managers can self-nominate or request a nomination through their recycLA Service Provider. Contact your RSP or call LASAN's 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489 to start your evaluation.
